Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the CatWOW app provided by BTechnology GmbH. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CatWOW for your private, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

2. Entertainment only, no guarantees

CatWOW is an entertainment and companion app. It is not veterinary advice and it does not replace a veterinarian or an in-person behaviourist. Cats react differently and some may not react at all. The meow translator sorts recordings into broad categories and is not a scientific instrument. Answers from the AI trainer are generated automatically and may be wrong. We make no promise of any particular result. Use common sense and keep the volume moderate around your pet.

3. Subscriptions, free trial & billing

CatWOW offers an auto-renewing subscription (CatWOW Pro) with a 3-day free trial.
Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store / Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region.

For Apple devices, the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App, reverse-engineer it, or use it in a way that could harm an animal, other people, or the service.

5. Intellectual property

The App, its design, sounds and content are owned by BTechnology GmbH or its licensors and are protected by law.

6. Disclaimer & liability

The App is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g. for intent or gross negligence).

7. Privacy & third-party services

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. The App uses PostHog (EU) for product analytics, RevenueCat for subscription management, Expo/EAS Updates for app updates, and OpenAI (via our own server) to generate answers of the AI trainer. The App does not use advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence.
